About Renaldo
Why work with Renaldo
Renaldo Wilson is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Mortgage Loan Officer, Realtor, and co-founder of Veterans Direct Mortgages — a company built to help veterans and active-duty service members confidently navigate the path to homeownership.
After transitioning from the military and establishing himself in both real estate and mortgage lending, Renaldo saw a major gap in the home-buying process. Too many veterans were either unaware of the benefits available to them or had received incomplete and inaccurate information about how the VA loan works. Some believed they needed a large down payment. Others assumed their credit, income, or previous use of the VA loan automatically prevented them from buying. Many simply didn't know where to begin.
That is why he helped build the company around an education-first approach. Through a structured, one-on-one VA loan consultation, Renaldo walks veterans through eligibility, entitlement, buying power, estimated monthly payments, cash-to-close, credit considerations, and available financing strategies — replacing confusion with a practical plan for moving forward.
As both a loan officer and a Realtor, Renaldo knows that securing financing is only one part of becoming a homeowner. Veterans also need someone who understands the housing market, contract negotiations, VA appraisal requirements, seller concerns, and how to structure a competitive offer.
Outside of mortgage lending and real estate, Renaldo is a devoted father, mentor, and youth basketball coach, passionate about his faith, his family, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Where They Help Most
What Renaldo works on
VA Purchase Loans
Buying with the benefit you earned — $0 down, no monthly mortgage insurance, and a funding fee that's waived entirely for veterans with a service-connected disability rating.
Learn more →VA IRRRL Refinance
The VA Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loan — a streamlined refinance of an existing VA loan, typically with no new appraisal and no income documentation.
Learn more →First-Time Military Buyers
First purchase, first PCS, first time reading a loan estimate. The pace slows down: what the entitlement covers, what the funding fee is, what the payment really looks like.
Learn more →PCS Relocations
Buying on orders, against a report date. Remote closings, powers of attorney, and BAH counted correctly for the duty station you're moving to — not the one you're leaving.

04
After the keys
Rates drop, we flag your IRRRL. PCS orders land, we run the rent-vs-sell math. The benefit is for life.
Straight Answers
Before you reach out
Will I actually work with Renaldo?
Yes. The form on this page goes to Renaldo directly — not a shared queue or a round-robin. Renaldo's direct line is (772) 801-8226.
Does it cost anything to talk?
No. Conversations, pre-approvals, and every calculator on this site are free, and reaching out does not affect your credit score.
Can you help if I'm still active duty?
Yes — much of this work is active-duty buyers qualifying on BAH, buying ahead of a PCS report date, or closing with a power of attorney mid-deployment.
What if I've been turned down before?
Bring the file. The VA sets no minimum credit score, and residual-income underwriting approves military families a generic bank calculator often rejects. If it doesn't pencil, you'll be told straight — and told what would change the answer.
The Rest of the Team

Every officer here is a licensed VA specialist with a direct line. Pick whoever fits — the file goes to the person you choose.
